Josef and Petra's Baby

Josef and Petra Planetovi from Brno had their second child last month. The baby is healthy and had a normal birth. However, two weeks after the birth Petra had complications and lost 40% of her blood. The doctors said if she had arrived at the hospital an hour later, she would have died. She is now at home and recovering well. We were in Brno 2 days, and Bill preached there on Sunday.

Prague

We flew from Sofia to Bratislava, Slovakia on a discount airline, then went by train to Prague so we could spend three days there to say good-bye to the Christians there. We met with Robert and Tami for lunch on Wednesday, spent Thursday with the Novak family, and ate lunch with Honza and Monika Vlcek on Friday, and afterward we all went to visit with Tatiana Morrow for a while. Mike Morrow was still in the States (Tatiana had just come in that morning). We enjoyed being with everyone. Bill was able to have some Bible studies while we were there as well. We were all sad to say good-bye to everyone there.

Sofia

We finally got our visas to go to Sofia on June 27th, and made the flight there Thursday June 29. There is a new law in effect in Bulgaria that requires foreigners who wish to be in the country more than 30 days out of 6 months to have a visa. This involved several trips to the Bulgarian Embassy, as well as being interviewed and having an official letter of invitation from a Bulgarian. We were happy to be able to make one last trip there. While we were there we were able to spend time with the Christians on outings as well. We played mini-golf with Biss (his first time), went on a hike with Biss and Stella ( a friend of Biss' that has recently become interested in Bible study and attends worship services), went to the zoo with Savella, and went out to eat at Happy (a Bulgarian restaurant) with Aaron, Dinyu, and Biss.
